Full time position (37.5 hours/week) based at our Northampton office.  Provides housing and homelessness prevention services in court and community settings. Human Services experience, 2 years minimum. Must have experience working with low-income individuals and families, preferably with people who are facing eviction or foreclosure, experience with program coordination, case management, and networking, strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and effectively work with participants to achieve goals. Knowledge of the housing, financial, and social service resources in Franklin/Hampshire & North Quabbin areas preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, understanding of poverty and its impact on individuals and families, ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assignments in a timely manner, and excellent computer skills required. $15/hour.

Community Action Family Support Programs seeks an energetic, compassionate and visionary leader to manage expansion of a multi-purpose family center in Greenfield that provides a broad range of supports and services for Franklin County families and youth. Must be flexible and highly organized, with strong interpersonal skills. Requires ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team, work collaboratively and cooperatively, and problem solve in a creative manner. BA/BS in Social Work, Human Services or related field, MS preferred. 5 years experience in program management and supervision and 3 years direct service experience with case management required. Must have experience working with youth and families using a strength-based, trauma-informed approach. We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and hard-working human services professional to join our team as a Supervisor for our Franklin County North Quabbin Healthy Families program.  This position offers the opportunity to positively affect the lives of young families by motivating and supporting a team of home visitors who focus on maternal infant health, parenting education, and family stabilization. 

The ideal candidate has a mental health background as well as experience with home-visiting and reflective supervision practice.   Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership/ supervisory experience as well as knowledge of the FC/NQ community. 

This is a 30 hr./wk. position requiring travel throughout the FC/NQ region. Pay rate is $18-19 per hour.

Reporting to the Program Director, The Director of Child and Family Support Services is responsible for effective program wide development, implementation, compliance and outcomes for PCDC's comprehensive Family Support Services. S/he provides supervision to the Family Services and Health Managers and to the Transportation Safety Supervisor. The Director of Child and Family Support Services is a member of PCDCs Director team and responsible to ensure overall program quality, compliance, effectiveness, excellence and Strategic Plan outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Management or related degree with 7 years leadership and administrative experience in a Head Start or Early Education and Care Program, or a Master’s Degree in a related field with at least 5 years experience, as above.  S/he and must have significant experience implementing successful early childhood programs, including a demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and supervision as well as the ability to assess, monitor and improve systems. Must display excellent analytical, organizational, communication, planning and presentation skills and have a demonstrated ability to analyze program data. Must display excellent judgment and ability to make decisions. Candidate must be knowledgeable and remain current regarding Head Start Performance Standards, all applicable local, state and federal regulations and relevant program administrative requirements.  Full Time, Exempt position based in Northampton MA.

Reporting to the Family Services Manager, supervise Family Advocates to ensure effective case management, file and data integrity, collaboration and family engagement according to Parent, Family and Community Engagement (PFCE) and other program goals. Must be computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and must demonstrate excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate experience with case management in human services and must quickly learn and be able to use internal data system for tracking, monitoring and reporting. Candidate must demonstrate excellent professional judgment and have the ability to make sound decisions, knowledge of Head Start requirements preferred. Minimum qualification requirements are a BA/BS in Human Services or related field, 2 years program administration (to include 1 year supervisory experience) or Associates Degree in Human Services 3 years of program administration and 1 year supervisory experience.  Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; satisfactory background check; current physical exam and MMR verification.

 Community Actions’ Parent-Child Development Center (PCDC) operates large Head Start and Early Education and Care programs throughout Franklin, Hampshire and Western Hampden County and is currently seeking a full time Buildings and Grounds Supervisor. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Building and Grounds Supervisor is responsible to ensure safe, clean, and compliant facilities. Duties include supervision of 3 maintenance staff, oversight of systems for preventive maintenance, renovation projects and bidding of capital projects. Demonstrated maintenance skills, knowledge of HVAC, electric and plumbing systems and budgeting of small to medium building renovations, planning and bidding of capital projects are required. Must have ability to provide a flexible and adaptable work schedule. Must be computer literate, a good communicator and be able to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment.  Minimum qualification requirements are a High School diploma and 6 years related experience, to include at least 2 years supervisory experience or a comparable combination of education and experience. Ideal candidate will have a MA Construction Supervisor or trade license, and be familiar with building codes, Davis Bacon and prevailing wage laws. $35,237 - $38,590 annual salary, excellent benefits.

SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR
Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
