What can I expect once I am enrolled in WEATHERIZATION?
The first step is to schedule the in-home assessment, or audit. A technician comes to your home. They will measure how thick your insulation is and use a machine called a blower door to measure how well-sealed your home is.
The technician will create a work plan and assign the work to a contractor. The contractor will communicate directly with you to coordinate the work.
Once the contractor reports to us that the work is done, the technician will return to inspect the work.

Frequently Asked Questions about Weatherization
Weatherization services are free for eligible homeowners and renters if they receive fuel assistance benefits or are on the utility discount rate. For tenants, we are required to get landlord authorization.
The in-home assessment will take about 90 minutes.
The technician will need access to your home, the attic and basement or crawlspaces in order to:
Measure the thickness of the insulation
Determine how well-sealed your home is
Take measurements to calculate the size of the home
Count the number of windows and doors
Check your heating system for age and efficiency
In limited circumstances, we can replace single-pane windows. The technician may be able to tell you if we can replace any of the windows in your home.
If your tenant is eligible for fuel assistance benefits or the discount rate, we can help.
If your property has 2-4 units, at least half of the tenants must meet the income-eligibility requirement in order for us to complete the work.
If your building has more than 4 units, you can contact Lean Multifamily for assistance.
